Located in Samlesbury on the edge of the Ribble Valley is a showroom offering the most beautiful floor coverings, perfect for both internal and external building projects and renovations, writes Helen Sanderson Walker from Live Magazine.
Roman Stone which opened its current showroom in 2015 is situated just a mile from junction 31 of the M6 motorway and has ample parking on site for customers.
Specialising in both limestone floors and the latest Italian porcelain, the showroom beautifully displays the company’s offering over two extensive floors. Externally there is also a large range of natural stone paving in limestone sandstone. At the helm of the operation are Immy and Jay, both business owners and brothers, providing unrivalled service and expertise on this type of flooring in the area.
The brothers established Roman Stone in 1998 as a specialist supplier of natural stone tiles and stone related products sourced from around the world. Now offering an unparalleled range of mid to high end beautiful flag stone floors as well as limestone and porcelain tiles.
The range includes:
• Large format natural stone tiles and hand finished flagstones with worn edges
• Classic contemporary and vintage natural limestone floor and wall tiles suited for anywhere around the home
• Porcelain HD tiles in stone, marble, wood, cement and vintage surfaces
• External stone paving
Immy explained: “Our focus is on resilient natural limestone flooring and hi-tec porcelain tiles. Our diverse range of stone is available in various surface finishes from tumbled and antiqued to honed and polished. Roman Stone’s speciality is developing large format limestone tiles in Jerusalem Stone and other hard limestones from different geographical locations. Some of these large format stone
tiles are exclusive to us here at Roman Stone and have been specially selected for their durable and timeless characteristics.”
Jay added: “People can often be uncomfortable with the maintenance they perceive that having real stone will create. This high tech flooring offers a real alternative that is very low maintenance. In the past we would never have entertained stocking porcelain flooring, but the technology has enhanced so much that to the untrained eye these Italian porcelains use HD graphic technology to mimick any desirable surface. For many, HD porcelain tiles combine the best of both worlds, a rugged and low maintenance tile that looks just like a natural product.”
Due to its remarkable resistance, porcelain is the natural choice of ceramic material for flooring in areas with a high level of pedestrian traffic, such as shopping centres, offices or public buildings. It also has great potential for use both indoor and outdoor areas in residential spaces able to combine and utilise anti-slip and anti-bacterial properties. Porcelain tiles’ resistance to temperature changes and aesthetic qualities make them highly suitable for covering flooring that has under floor heating.
Having been in the stone flooring business for more than 20 years, both Jay and Immy have a wealth of knowledge to share to ensure you get the most out of the investment you make in a stone or tile floor. They are happy and eager to provide advice and guidance on all aspects from selection and installation to sealing and aftercare, as well as on going maintenance.
To discover the practicality and beauty of both natural stone tiles and porcelain, why not visit the showroom on the A59. Either Jay or Immy will be on hand to offer practical and friendly advice so you can make the right choice for your project.
